On September 25, 2019, Bayside Montessori went to Wadell’s Apple Orchard. We were greeted by Marita Wadell and Farmer Charlie. We followed Farmer Charlie back to the picking area, and he showed us how to pick an apple properly. Always remember that the bottom of the apple, called the eye, needs to be tipped to the sky. Then, gently turn the apple! We picked some apples for our homes, some for the school, and one special apple to eat right at the orchard! We finished our morning with a picnic lunch, prepared by Susan, our school chef. Some of the moms and dads helped us out too. It was a great day. Next, we get to make apple crisp to enjoy at school!
