May Clipart

Hello Bayside Families!

I can hardly believe I am writing the May newsletter! Where has the time gone? The children are growing and changing so quickly. We are doing our best to keep up with all the new lessons being presented. At the end of May, you will receive a comprehensive report on your child’s activities throughout the year.

There are a few dates to keep in mind.

May 1st-monthly tuition is due.

May 17th, we will travel by bus to Ruby’s Alpaca Farm! This is very exciting, as it is our first field trip in three years. The cost is $18.00 per person. You can make your payment at either on or before May 10th. We will depart school promptly at 9:30 and return in time for lunch at 11:30.

May 19th is a professional development day. The children do not come to school on this day.

May 22nd is Victoria Day and the school is closed.

May 26th is Superhero Day! Please have your child come dressed as a superhero.

For parents of graduates: the gowns have arrived. You may pay $23.00 to . We will keep the gowns at school until graduation day.

As the days grow warmer, please ensure your child has a seasonal change of clothing at school. We strongly suggest that you send them in runners and not in rain boots. Rain boots tend to be big, and clumsy to wear. We have more injuries on the playground from children wearing rainboots than any other type of footwear. Next is sandals. Please ensure your child has closed-toe, running shoes for outdoor use.

If you have any milk bags, or would like to start saving them, we could use them at school. Bring them in anytime!

Sunscreen will be provided by the school. It will be unscented and hypoallergenic. We ask that you not send sunscreen to avoid cross-contamination during the application. You are responsible to sunscreen your child before school. We will re-apply our sunscreen mid-day. If you do not want your child to wear sunscreen, please let us know, in writing.

Summer camps in the Kingston area are now open for registration. The Kingstonist provided a list of options on April 13th. Go to kingstonist.com for more information.
