February News - 2023 - Bayside Montessori School

Dear Bayside Parents,

Our school year continues to fly by and the children are enthusiastically advancing through the Montessori curriculum!

A big thank you to Jan, Susan, Paula, Nicole, and Michelle for doing such a super job in Melissa’s absence!

Some dates to be aware of:
Monday, February 3 is a Professional Development Day
Monday, February 20 is Family Day
There is no school on these days.

February tuition is due Wednesday, February 1st.

We will be celebrating our 100th day of school on Friday, February 10. The children will be doing various activities involving 100!

Tuesday, February 21 is Shrove Tuesday and Susan will be treating the students to a pancake lunch!

For those of you who like to read and may be looking for a good book, please check out our book exchange! Just inside the door to the classroom, on the cubby shelf, to the right. Feel free to take a book, add a book, or both!

With re-enrollment concluding on January 27th, enrollment for new families will begin January 30th. There will be families visiting throughout the month of February and we hope to have a full roster by March 1st. If there are any parents interested in sending a sibling or if you have any referrals, please let us know.

Valentine’s Day is Tuesday, February 14. There will be bags for each student so that the children can exchange Valentines if they wish. We recommend that students sign their name without addressing them. This makes passing out Valentines much easier. Bags will be in the classroom, ready for families to pass out their Valentines either at drop off or pick up each day beginning February 7. We ask that no candy or food items be distributed in the children’s bags to ensure that there is no conflict with allergies. For those of you who wish to address the Valentines, a list of the children is included.
