Dear Parents,

February brings the excitement of Valentine’s Day so we thought you might like a list of children for Valentine’s cards! You will find the list at the end of the newsletter. We suggest that rather than printing all the children’s names, you simply have your child sign each card. Each child will have a special Valentine bag in their cubby for you to place the cards in. Please do not ask the teachers to hand out cards. Remember that we have a child with a peanut allergy. We ask that any special treats be something other than candy or food.

We will have a little Valentine’s celebration on the morning of February 14th. We ask that everyone wear red and white! Also, on the same day, The Conservatory will be presenting a program to the children.

Experience midwinter magic in the sparkling performance of dancers from The Conservatory Ballet! Based on the classic Russian fairy-tale, “The Snow Maiden” is a short, family-friendly, original storybook ballet for dance lovers of all ages. Choreographed by Melissa Mahady Wilton, and accompanied by glorious music from Tchaikovsky’s opera of the same name, audience members escape to a silvery kingdom ruled by the Queen of Spring and her enchanted princess daughter, The Snow Maiden. Amid dancing frost fairies, azure winter birds, and twirling skaters, experience the joy of dance and the warmth of friendship. Through the transformative power of love, beauty blooms in even the iciest of hearts.

For all who are interested in having your child return to Bayside in September, please be advised that all re-enrollment forms and registration fees are due either on or before February 7th. After this date, we cannot guarantee space as we will begin enrolling the new students.

Monday, February 17th is Family Day. There is no school on this day. We hope you enjoy this time with your family.

On Thursday, February 20th The whole school, Bayside, and KCS will have a lockdown drill. The time has yet to be determined and we will keep you informed.

Because of our strange and wet weather, we would encourage you to keep two pairs of waterproof mittens at school. Please ensure the mitts are labeled with your child’s name. Also, we suggest that each child have one sweater to be left at school for those extra cold days.

We are still accepting the outer milk bags for KCS.

In closing, please ensure that you are checking your child’s family folder for artwork, invitations and other important information.

Kind Regards,

Bayside Staff
